Documentary

Synopsis
Best known to many pop/MOR listeners for their 1973 collaboration with Paul Simon, “Loves Me Like a Rock,” The Dixie Hummingbirds- an all-black gospel vocal band that hailed from Greenville, South Carolina – quickly chalked up a following as one of the most popular ensembles of its type. They also made an enduring impact on countless giants of secular music from B.B. King to James Brown. The documentary shows the band “passing the torch” onto a younger generation.
